Indonesia boyband? SMASH.

Okay, I just watch their MV, I Heart you and yeahhh totally HANDSOME and AWESOME! HAHAHA. But but they look like copy a band from Korea. Idk. In entertainment, it often happens when a new artist trying to imitate or look like the previous idolized artists. Such thing also happens to Indonesian new boyband, SMASH, which is both criticized and praised for their appearance and performance similar to SMASH, a boy band from Korea. Hmmm, same name…a coincidence, perhaps? Lets check each bands profile.

SMASH FROM KOREA*

The SMASH from Korea debuted on August 14, 2008 with their single “Emergency.” The band consists of 6 members: World (original name Nam Hyun), Cheon Woo (Lee Jin Yong), Jerry (Shim Min Kyu), Naru (Joo Young Suk), Han Bang (Han Jung Soo), and Hero (Kim Min Soo). The boys are quite popular in Korea, with girls fans go hysteric whenever they perform. But I never know that SMASH from Korea! Dem, such a stupid chicken ==" I should explore more about korean bands.

SMASH FROM INDONESIA*

It seems that the SM*SH from Indonesia wants to have the similar path of fame and glory. Debuted in 2010, the group performed a single and video clip “I Heart You”. The 7 members: Morgan Oey, Rangga Dewamoela S, Rafael, Dicky M Prasetya, Reza Anugrah, Muhammad Ilham Fauzi, Bisma Karisma, also dance and sing. Many people claim that the style of their dance, their album cover, even their photo posses are exactly similar to the previous Korean pop artists, like SM*SH, Suju, and DBSK.Idk whether it’s the problem of creativity or the “shameless culture”, but I leave it up to you. Same name, same style. What do you think? Is Indonesian SMASH a copycat? Do their styles mostly imitate the already existing artists? I read some comment from Indonesia people, mostly they dont really like this band and they think this is such a shame for their country, hmm what should I say? BYEEEE.
